Temporary installations in front of more permanent installations
The images from this series were taken in iconic locations of global tourism, all heavily impacted by human activity. They depict not spectacular ecological disasters, but the discreet, every day, and insidious footprint left by our presence. They tell the story of our ambivalent relationship with the world, a mixture of admiration and consumption.
I construct temporary micro-installations in front of "once-in-a-lifetime" places to visit, using objects and detritus found on location. These small constructions, placed before breathtaking landscapes or impressive ruins left by others before me, function as ludicrous vanitas that illustrate the fleeting and not always virtuous trace I leave on Earth.
